I would go back to the 1930s to show people that Geert Wilders and Hitler are very much alike

OH THE HORROR!!! aka Top Gear US

As far as I know there are over 220 million people living in the US you would think that it wouldn't be a problem to find someone who can come up with an original idea for a TV show instead of copying another one from the UK.I still have nightmares from the short lived US version of "Coupling" I'm having therapy to get over the shock of watching the US version of "Shameless" and now I'm scarred for life because some moron (I'm hoping it's limited to just one person and hope there aren't more) came up with the idea of making a US version of Top Gear.

Ok the UK version is hosted by three middle aged men

OK the UK version bashes cars made in the US

SO WHAT?!

The three middle aged men made the show a success and obviously not because of their looks it's very popular (well here in The Netherlands ) amongst women and children because you don't get bored with technical details ,the hosts are funny and because they are objective about the cars they review.

So they're not always positive about American cars they also bash cars from the UK,Germany,Italy, etc. They're also not very fond of the few cars made in The Netherlands but does that mean every country should have their own version of Top Gear?NO!

There's a reason this show gets 350 million viewers world wide. It's just perfect the way it is.

I don't know if there are any more shows about cars in the US but in The Netherlands we have two other shows about cars not as good as Top Gear but they've been around for a few years and have a steady audience. You would think that if a small country can think of two original shows the possibilities in the US would be endless.
I don't really understand why the US needs its own version of Top Gear (or any other shows they made their own version of) if someone can come up with "House","NCIS","SNL" how hard can it be to find someone who can think of an original show about cars?

No I don't think UK television in better then US television it's just this program and the others I've mentioned that make me cringe. There is a Dutch version of The Daily Show that's not even 1% as good as the US original and don't even get me started on the Dutch copy of (the luckily very short lived) version of "EastEnders" and although I like Law&Order:UK it's not nearly as good as the US version.
